Have you ever gone to one of those Escape Rooms?! Instead of locking our students in a classroom, BreakoutEDU has students solving puzzles and challenges to get into the box - all centered around a certain theme/unit. BreakoutEDU:TIKKUN OLAM (created in collaboration with the JECC Teacher Center and the Boston Diller Teen Fellows program) includes 5 challenges that center around Tikkun Olam and being a light unto the nation. You can download the challenges here, but you'll need to supply the box, the locks and even the invisible ink and blacklight flashlight.

NEW for 2019: Two alternate activities have been created and in the second directions document posted - these new challenges include: Study and Action and Isaac Luria's Gathering Shards.  Feel free to mix and match these activities.
