Nefesh Groups are Jewish responses to teen stories of stress and anxiety - concern for school shootings, for rising anti-Semitism, for competitive college preparations, general teen-to-teen drama, and more.  Facilitated by a consistent, caring adult (with the support of clergy, as needed), Nefesh Groups were designed as the first 25 minutes of a synagogue high school program, offering a forum for conversation as well as support-activities, introducing tools that can help teens develop strategies for self-care. In addition, the Nefesh tools are framed within a Jewish context - texts, values, and stories from our past and present.  It is important to note that Nefesh Groups are focused on building teen wellness toolkits, not on therapy.

There are two documents to download - a document for the teacher-facilitator and one of texts for the teens.  This is a PILOT curriculum - please read the note at the beginning of the curriculum document.
