#Onward Hebrew - T'fillah Posters - Amidah
One of the key findings from the "science of reading" is the importance of early readers working with a large font size, extra space between words and more white space between lines. While part-time Hebrew students cannot achieve the skill of reading as defined by the research, they benefit from the same visual layout.
These t'fillah posters are offered in large font, with phrasing that parallels how most fluent readers parse the prayers. Lines are also numbered for ease in quickly directing students to a particular line. The Kamatz Katzan (pronounced with an "oh" sound, rather than the normative "ah" of the Kamatz) is marked in a blue font. These pages are versatile, allowing teachers to enlarge them on a copier and cut them apart to create individual large font word cards to help students focus on challenging words.
