Hebrew Through Movement works best when taught in a group setting – children can look to each other if they can’t remember the meaning of a word. However, in 2020, in the wake of the coronavirus stay-in-place orders, HTM teachers needed some new ways to reinforce learning in a virtual environment.
These free-to-download Bingo sheets review vocabulary from Foundational Levels 1-5, with a few words from Level 6. One packet has 25 spaces and another has only 16, with 6 randomized boards.
Prior to use, teachers should email a copy of the sheet packet to parents, asking them to print one page for use during the online session (parents can randomly choose, or the teacher can indicate which children should print page 1, which page 2, etc). Students will also need 24 “somethings” to cover spaces after words are announced.
Consider screen-sharing one of the boards and after naming a Hebrew word or phrase and waiting 10 seconds, draw a circle or place a small X over the picture matching the word just called. Try to stay completely in Hebrew once the game begins.
Enjoy!
